Reflections Week 1

REFLECTIONS ON WEEK 1
  1. Are there any factors that you think are going to affect your participation or experience in this class? Access to a computer?  Mobile/smart phone?  Transportation?  Friends/family? Schedule?
  2. Think of an awesome best ever learning experience that changed you. What did you learn? Where were you? What happened? Who else was there? Did it teach you anything about how you learn (or pay attention... or remember, or think?) How did you know what was happening?
  3. What are you most [excited/concerned] about in this class? What do you look forward to in learning?  How do you think it can/will make a practical difference in your life?

\1. Time would be something that would dramatically impact my class work and participation. Because I am yet to drive I have to work around my parents schedule. Usually meaning I do not get  home before 8/9. leaving me with no internet access for most of the day.

2. One of my best learning experiences I have had recently would be one I had over the summer. As I volunteered over the summer with a local Boys and Girls Club I learned a lot about myself. I learned I had way more patients than I thought I did. Working with kids was one thing, but working with kids of different backgrounds was a challenge. I won't forget the siblings that made me want to pull my hair out the very first weeks. As challenging as they were I learned of there background. All they really needed was someone to point out when they did something good, instead of the staff always pointing out when they did bad. As soon as I did so, they began to love the feeling of the positive attentions. I turned from their worst enemy to one of there closest staff members. That alone taught me a lot. We focus to much on the negative rather in the positive. As well as we tend to lack in the area of showing ach other affection now and days.

3. I am most excited for the outcome I will get of the class. Such as just learning more and being more aware of things. I'm just excited to finish the course, that alone would make me feel so great knowing I decided to challenge myself. I feel like it can make a difference in my life, showing me various of writing techniques and what not ; that I might have not learned otherwise.
